ODWaCE create strategic plan to  engage in different activities which enables to create impact in remote areas of Ethiopia  being a pioneering NGO in the areas of addressing HTPs, has built good reputations through promoting the rights of children and the provision of quality services for disadvantaged children victims of CM & FGM. Some of the key performance and results of the Organization during the 2011-2020 strategic plan period are summarized below:

  • Victim Children: through its different child focused projects and program, we were able to rescue bnmv  over 150 victims of FGM, guidance and counseling for 54Females, rehabilitated 144 children victims of FGM in IGA schemes and strengthening 24 child school clubs with 11939548F) club members
  • Women Empowerment: 54 women victims of FGM rehabilitated with feasible IGA schemes & 281F provided with life skills and parenting skills provided with IGA.
  • Government Capacity Building: In the period under consideration, 53 policy makers, 40 law enforcement bodies, 768 health workers and professionals, 217 staff from WCYA office, 317 national and worda level network members, 64 peer educators & 62 PTA members were provided with different tailor made capacity building training so as to make them responsive.
  • Community & Religious Leaders: similarly, 232 community and religious leaders were trained in different capacity building schemes, 4228 members of the Community conversation circles supported with different materials and capacity building training so as to enable them to facilitate the CC sessions.
  • National and Region level workshop: with the intention to create awareness among the decision and policy makers at national & regional levels and to influence their practices and attitude, the organization organized and facilitated different national workshops at the presence of over 256 participants and regional workshops at the presence of 420 government participants and 74 CSOs participants.
  • Development and distribution of BCC & IEC Materials: with the aim to enhance the awareness and consciousness level of our target children, women, community and religious leaders and government stakeholders, 2950pcs of different posters, 14600pcs of Brochures, 2290pcs of flowcharts, 7090pcs of Guideline & training manuals, 1900pcs of newsletters, 114 reference books, and one documentary films were developed and distributed.
  • Commemorating International Days: with the objective to promote the rights of women & children and reach the wider public, the organization commemorated women international days, International HIV/AIDs days and Zero tolerance for FGM day’s in Mekels, Jigjiga, Hossana, wolkite and Addis Ababa.
  • Research: The organization is well known for the production and dissemination of different research products with the aim to generate evidences and conduct evidence based lobby and advocacy.
  • Media Engagement: capacity building training provided for 40 media professionals and practitioners, facilitated media awareness through Radio FANA and organized media campaign. 
    1. OUR PROGRAM GOALS AND STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES(2022-2026)
    •  GOAL 1:  CHILDREN: Empower children victims of CM, FGM, worst form of child labour, trafficking and migration, children in the context of internal displacement and minority children and their institutions, parents and guardians to protect themselves from different forms HTP, abuses & exploitation and promote their rights.
    • Strategic Objective 1.1: To rescue children victims of CM & FGM through the provision of psycho-social support to families and guardians, advocating their issues through media dialogue, campaign, providing wider public awareness, rising their right consciousness & collectively organizing them to take action against harmful customary practices (FGM & EC) 
    • Strategic Objective 1.2 To prevent children potentially at risks of CM & FGM through building their institutions, families/guardians, advocating their issues through media dialogue, campaign, wider public awareness, rising their right consciousness & collectively organizing them to take action against harmful customary practices (FGM & CM)
    •  Strategic Objective 1.3:  To rescue children victims of trafficking and unsafe migration through the provision of immediate basic needs, psycho-social support, reunification & re-integration
    •  Strategic Objective 1.4 To protect urban & rural children potentially at risks of unsafe migration and trafficking through taking preventive measures (creating education access, family livelihood improvement, public awareness through media & CC, strengthening in and out of school level clubs, life and parenting skills, addressing issues related with brokers and peer influencers.
    • Strategic Objective 1.5 To protect children in the context of internal displacement through provision of immediate need based support. 
    • Strategic Objective 1.6 To rescue children victims of worst from of child labour through provision of alternative livelihood schemes, psycho-social support, rehabilitation and re-integration service and promotion of their rights.
    • Strategic Objective 1.7 To socially integrate those socially excluded and marginalized groups through creating awareness of right holder to claim their right and to make duty bearers responsive, protect, promote and respect the rights of minority.

    • GOAL 2: WOMEN: Empower vulnerable women in a displacement context, Women headed households in extreme poverty, street women with children & Women minority and their institutions to protect themselves from violence and HTPs, promote economic alternatives & their rights.
    • Strategic Objective 2.1 To rescue Women in a displacement context through the provision of immediate and strategic supports.
    • Strategic Objective 2.2 To improve the practical and strategic needs of women headed HHs living in poverty through strengthening their institutions, improving livelihood status, decision making & representation status and promote their rights
    • Strategic Objective 2.3 To rescue street women with children from GBVs through provision of psycho-social support, right awareness & promotion, alternative livelihood schemes and create access to social, economic and health services such (SRH, IGA, financial access, etc),
    • Strategic Objective 2.4 To socially integrate those socially excluded and marginalized women groups through creating awareness of right holders to claim their right and the duty bearers to make responsive, protect, promote and respect the rights of minority
    • Strategic Objective 2.5 To Promote the rights of children victims of CM, FGM, worst form of child labour, trafficking and unsafe migration and minority children through raising right consciousness & awareness, media dialogue, community conversation, lobby and advocacy and campaign.
    •  GOAL 3: YOUTH- unemployed youth and youth victims of trafficking and unsafe migration are mobilized, organized, empowered and engaged in meaningful livelihood schemes, ensured their SRHR and participated in matters that affects their life.
    • Specific Objective 3.1 To enhance meaningful Youth Inclusive Participation on matters that affects their life, promote their rights and ensure their access to SRHR and other services.
